Could you please explain what Re/max is?

It seems like every realtor I come across is connected to Re/max. Thus, wouldn’t their inventory be the same for everyone? Are there any other locations I should visit that might offer us some alternative possibilities to consider? Or am I simply misunderstanding what re/max is?

RE/MAX is a brand where realtors operate as independent contractors. It’s similar to realtors working separately out of a WeWork office. Inventory isn’t restricted by the company you choose to work with. When a house is for sale, it’s listed by a seller’s agent who may be affiliated with the RE/MAX brand, but they will sell the house to anyone. Likewise, if you work with a buyer’s agent from RE/MAX, they will search for homes for sale in the area regardless of which company is listing them.

Re/max is a company name. Independent contractors are realtors. Imagine that each realtor operates independently while sharing a WeWork office. The type of firm you choose to partner with doesn’t affect inventory. A seller’s agent, who may operate under the Re/Max name, lists a house for sale and will negotiate with any buyer. When working with a buyers agent affiliated with Re/Max, they will search all available homes in the region, irrespective of the listing firm.

Hi, Lorelei. Re/Max is a brand. Realtors are independent contractors. Consider how realtors all work from the same WeWork workplace, but everyone works independently. Inventory is not restricted by the company you choose to work with.
