Date the Rate is turning into a very long-term commitment... when will I be able to break up with the Rate?

The Rate and I have been growing apart emotionally lately. I married the House, but I just don’t like this extracurricular romantic and financial activity. When can I finally break up with the Rate?

Anyone who told their clients this is an asshole.

My agent ‘guaranteed the rate would go down by the end of 2023’… I told him that’s impossible for him to say.

If they knew where rates are going to be, they wouldn’t be real estate agents. They’d be on a beach somewhere.

All his industry experts were also relying on having people buy houses that month so he could pay his car and mortgage.

It did, then back up, then down, then up again. Next time get a money-back guarantee in writing.

There are a lot of assholes out there.

I HATE this stupid phrase, and I can’t believe anyone would say it out loud without feeling like a total idiot.

That phrase is hilarious, and I can’t believe people bit off on it. The rate is the rate is the rate.

With the caveat that people who pushed an ARM might have been worse, especially when rates were at all-time lows.

I think the fed will raise rates again in April. Expect prices on everything to go way up.

I suspect you’ll be dating until the 10yr reaches 3.5 or lower. Some people date for a very long time.

Years might be a stretch. Cuts are still the only move actively in play.

Realtors spent all of 2022 lying to clients about how ‘they can just refinance’ once the rates go down.

When there’s a recession the FED will lower rates and may buy MBS to drop the rate like they did during Covid.

You tell people what they want to hear, reassure them they’re making the right decision, collect your commission and repeat!
