Do agents get annoyed by low offers

There’s a house I like but I think it’s way overpriced. It was originally a foreclosure house, sold at 149. Then listed for 319, taken down for a month, and relisted at 380. Our agent says they might have refinished the floors in that month span, but we don’t know for sure what the big jump was. The furnace, water heater, AC, and roof are all old, so they didn’t replace that. Would you be annoyed if a client asked to put in an offer that’s 50k less than listing? In my mind the worst that will happen is they say no, but I also don’t want to waste my realtor’s time.

Honestly, as an agent, I wouldn’t be annoyed by low offers. It’s part of the process. Every buyer has their budget, and it’s totally fair to make an offer that feels right for you.

For sure, agents are used to all kinds of offers. Just keep in mind that sometimes sellers can be a bit sensitive to lowball offers, especially if they have emotional ties to the home.

Honestly, it depends on the market. In a hot market, low offers can be seen as rude, but in a cooler market, it’s more common. Just be prepared for any reaction.

IDK, I feel like it could backfire sometimes. What if they just get mad and refuse to negotiate at all?

At the end of the day, it’s your money and your decision. If the house is overpriced in your opinion, then go for it. Just be prepared for any outcome.
