How do I tell a realtor that I've decided to go with another agent?

I’ll be listing my grandfather’s home soon and have met with five realtors over the past month, including one I’ve used before. I’ve chosen the realtor that provides free staging.

Not going with realtor you already work so you trust…very weird strategy… Real estate is not about who doing the cheapest or stuff like this…if you go with the cheapest…you will have mostly the cheapest service…

I have a real estate agency.

I don’t lower too much my com or else cause we know what we do.

Good luck

.if the staging cost is the only thing that is making you pick that realtor, you may just want to talk to the realtor you have used before and say something like:

“my family is really interested in getting the most we can for my elderly grandfather, and in doing the due diligence of interviewing realtor candidates, one realtor that we like has offered to comp the staging for us. i actually would prefer to work with you again, and i am wondering if you are interested in matching that offer. that may be the decision point for us, so i had wanted to ask you before my family makes any final decisions.”

if you like them and have had a good experience with them, i would give them a chance to compete. if they dont want to match it, thats ok and on them.

Have you negotiated down the percentage? Is the “free” staging good?

Percentage are all the same. Yes, the staging is good.

It’s a business transaction stop over thinking it. You call and tell them thanks but no thanks and move on. You do not owe them an explanation of why

If a realtor is providing free staging I would ask more details. Like is it internet staging or actual furniture in the house staging. And I would ask to see pictures of staging they have provided before. Staging is expensive and it’s not common to see realtors do this. My antenna would be up and asking a lot more questions.

I have seen you say that you haven’t signed anything yet.

Therefore, you can phrase it in a way that makes them turn you down instead of the other way around.

“Hi Frank, I have received an offer with Bill that is just too good for me to pass up. He is offering free staging.”

Frank either has to say, “Hey, I’ll give you free staging plus a commission discount,” or, “Alright, that’s more than I can do so I’ll have to wish you luck.”

Hi Jacks,Honestly you don’t need to say a thing. List it with the realtor you thought would be best. If you see them in town or something and the ask just say you went with someone else. You don’t owe them anything

If you liked the Realtor you used before, then I would give her/him a chance to provide free staging before switching to a different Realtor.
