Hello fellow homeowners! I’ve been thinking about enhancing my backyard with a nice fence to provide both privacy and safety for my family and pets. I’m in the planning stages and wondering if anyone could share their recent experiences or provide ballpark figures on the cost of installing a quality fence? I’m particularly interested in factors like material type, labor costs, and any unexpected expenses you might have encountered. Your insights would really help me budget and plan effectively for this project. Thanks in advance for your advice!
Installing a quality fence can cost between $1,500 and $4,000, depending on materials like wood, vinyl, or aluminum and labor costs. Unexpected expenses may include permits, land preparation and maintenance, potentially increasing overall costs.

Two gaps I struck large enough rocks that my 18" diameter was insufficient to detect any edge, which is not ideal because I had to secure my post to the rock.
The cost of a fence based on materials, style, and size. On average, expect to pay between $1,500 to $3,500 for a standard residential fence installation in the US.
