Hey everyone, I just closed on my first house, super excited, But now that the confetti’s settled, reality’s setting in. One thing I’m fuzzy on is homeowners insurance. I remember my old roommate mentioning it can get pricey, but how much exactly are we talking here? Is homeowners insurance a monthly bill that will break the bank, or is it something that can be budgeted for comfortably? Especially curious to hear from fellow first-time homeowners.

I pay around $290/mo
It went up from 240 to 321 this year so we got a new plan with a higher deductible to save the $30/mo
The insurance market is fucked because of the Marshall fire and hail storms… Something climate change
