Is the Colibri Real Estate course worth it? / Need advice on New York real estate pre-licensing

I’m looking to obtain my New York real estate license and need advice on fulfilling my pre-licensing requirements. There are many online courses available, and I keep seeing advertisements for Colibri Real Estate. It seems unusual that they offer a money-back guarantee if one fails. Has anyone taken Colibri for their 77-hour pre-licensing course? Are there any other courses that would be better to take advantage of? Any help is appreciated.

It’s suitable for real estate investors and individuals who’ve already completed their pre-licensing courses but want to refine their skills for the state exam.

Colibri doesn’t tell you about all the extra costs. For example, your course might expire after 60 days, and if it does, you’ll have to pay $115 or more to keep going. They also don’t mention that you’ll need to pay $20 to have someone watch you take your final test. It’s possible they’ll charge you every time you try to take the test, too.

When I decided to pursue a real estate license, I faced the challenge of choosing among many online courses. Like you, I encountered advertisements for a particular provider offering a money-back guarantee if one failed to pass the licensing exam. Intrigued by this guarantee, I opted for their course. The platform was user-friendly, with comprehensive materials and interactive elements that helped reinforce learning. The instructors were experienced real estate professionals, and the course included practice exams closely mirroring the actual licensing exam. I found the structure and flexibility extremely beneficial, allowing me to study at my own pace while balancing other commitments. Fortunately, I passed the exam on my first attempt, but knowing the money-back guarantee was available provided peace of mind.

Based on my research and discussions with peers, it’s clear that different people have different needs when it comes to learning. Some colleagues opted for other reputable courses and had equally positive experiences. These courses might offer unique features like live webinars, additional study aids, or more personalized instructor support. For example, a friend preferred a course with live sessions because it provided real-time interaction and immediate answers to questions, which helped him grasp complex concepts more effectively.

While Colibri Real Estate’s offer of a money-back guarantee if you fail is reassuring and suggests confidence in their course quality, it’s essential to consider your personal learning style and needs. Research and compare a few options, read reviews, and maybe even reach out to former students to get a sense of their experiences. Starting with a course that offers a trial period or has strong customer support can also be a good strategy to ensure it meets your expectations before fully committing.
