Hello …
I need some advice on a very strange situation I’m encountering with a real estate company.
There is a commercial building located near me in Iowa that has been for sale for a very long time. Another person and I are interested in looking at the property, but we’ve been completely unable to contact the real estate company that supposedly owns it.

Which company are you inquiring about? Or am I getting old because I do not see you mentioning any company in your question?
But to access the legitimacy of a real estate company, follow these strategies:
- Check their license: Verify the company’s real estate license through the Iowa Professional Licensing Bureau. This can confirm if they are legally allowed to operate in the state.
- Look for reviews: Search for reviews or complaints about the company on third-party sites like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) or Yelp.
- Visit their office: If possible, visit their physical office location to see if it exists and is operational.
- Check online presence: Look at their website and social media profiles. A legitimate company should have a professional online presence with contact information and client testimonials.
- Ask for references: Request references from past clients. A reputable company should be able to provide these without hesitation.
I faced a similar issue with a real estate company when I was looking at a commercial property nearby. I found that properties on the market for a long time sometimes get lost in communication due to outdated contact details or poor management. I recommend trying multiple contact methods, like calling different office numbers or reaching out via email and social media. If that doesn’t work, checking public records or local property listings might help find the right contact or uncover alternative routes to get in touch with the seller. Sometimes, local real estate agents or brokers might also have insights or direct contacts for these kinds of situations.
