Realtor Missed Most of Their Own Open House - What Should I Do?

Hello folks…
I’m dealing with a frustrating situation and could use some advice. My realtor scheduled an open house for today (Sunday) from noon to 1:30 PM but informed me last minute that he wouldn’t be hosting it himself. Instead, his associate was supposed to handle it.

Unfortunately, the associate arrived over an hour late, and during the first half-hour of the open house, six people showed up but couldn’t get in because no one was there. After that, no one else showed up.

We’ve had nothing but positive experiences with our realtor until now, but I’m really upset about this. We have a time crunch to sell our house because we have an accepted offer on the house we’re buying.

How should I handle this situation? Besides leaving a bad review, what can I do to address the missed opportunity and ensure it doesn’t happen again? I’m looking for advice on how to move forward and what actions I might take.

There isn’t much to do, right? You can write a bad review, but it sounds like there was an easy misunderstanding that anyone could have had. There were six interesting people who showed up, which is good news. They can set up showings this week or come to next week’s OH.

Oh wow, that’s super frustrating. I’ve been there, and it’s not fun. First off, I’d have a calm chat with your realtor. Let them know how this affected you and your timeline. Maybe suggest they personally oversee things or have a backup plan next time. I wouldn’t jump to a bad review just yet—give them a chance to fix it.
