Selling house in Albania, I live in US... what are my options?

Hey everyone… I currently live in Texas and I have a house in Albania that I’m trying to sell. I’ve been told that I MUST travel to Albania to sign the papers for the sale. Do I really have to fly there just for this? What options do I have? Thanks for any help!

I don’t have specific experience with Albania, but in many countries, you can hire a local lawyer and grant them a limited power of attorney. They can then act on your behalf and handle the sale without you having to be there.

That sounds like a better option! But make sure the lawyer is reputable. You might also want to check if there are any specific regulations in Albania about this.

This is such a specific question that you might want to ask in an Albania-based subreddit or consult with an Albanian real estate attorney for the best guidance.

Definitely look into getting a power of attorney! It can save you a lot of hassle and money on flights.

If it helps, I’ve heard that the process can vary a lot between different regions in Albania, so getting local advice is key.
