I have a TV mount and speaker shelf on the only wall in the living room, plus matching coffee station shelves. I’m getting the interior painted before selling and I’m wondering if I should remove the mount/shelves and patch the holes. I’m hesitant because the house has 100-year-old plaster, and I worry that if I remove them, the new homeowner might just end up putting more holes in the plaster. What do you think?
In my experience, the last two places we bought both left the mounts and shelves up. It’s pretty common.
I would just leave it as is. It could be useful for the new owners.
Consider leaving it. You could always hang the TV back up after the painting is done.
I personally wouldn’t want it, but I doubt it would deter me from making an offer. It’s not a dealbreaker.
Definitely leave it. The potential for damage from removal isn’t worth it, especially in an old house.
They left the TV mounts in our house when we bought it, and we appreciated it. Saved us the hassle of putting them up!
