Hey everyone, so I’m finally putting my house on the market! I’ve been hearing a lot about home staging and how it can help sell your place faster and for more money. I once used a stager for a friend’s house and it looked amazing, but it was pretty pricey.
I’m trying to be budget-conscious with the whole selling process. Anyone have experience staging their home themselves? Is it realistic to get a good result without hiring a pro?
To stage your home on a budget, start by decluttering and removing excess furniture. Borrow or rearrange existing furniture to fill spaces. Paint walls with light, neutral colors. Use mirrors to make rooms feel larger and brighter. Add affordable plants and minimal decor. Upgrade fixtures and hardware for a fresh look.
If you can’t afford it, though, you should put a lot of effort into clearing out your area. When you have personal items all over the place, such books, family photos, unread mail, crowded worktops, and more, buyers will find it difficult to imagine themselves living in your area.
