What is the entire process for becoming a legitimate Real Estate Agent?

I am seeking urgent help to simplify what it looks like to be a real estate agent. I want to know how fast I can make a living and any advice that could help finalize my decision.

Becoming licensed is easy in most states and takes about 3 months. However, making a living salary in the first three years is extremely difficult.

You don’t need ‘urgent help.’ It sounds like you’re about to jump off the diving board without checking for water. Define ‘make a living.’ Is that net $20/hr, $30/hr, or $50/hr? What’s the highest per hour you’ve made, and what were you doing?

@Bay
I haven’t really thought about specific numbers. Just want to know if it’s possible to earn a decent living.

An overwhelming percentage of people who get real estate licenses to enter sales fail to make a living. It often costs them money for education, licensing fees, and they could have been earning elsewhere.

Most people will tell you to have 6-12 months of savings. They’re right to some extent. It’ll take time to meet clients and close deals. It took me about 6 months to close my first deal. If you have someone to support you or another job, that helps. Also, the broker you choose matters; some offer great training that can fast-track you. Just know that it can consume a lot of your time, and weekends will be filled with open houses.

Thanks for the heads-up! I had no idea it would be so time-consuming. Is it worth it in the long run?

It can be a good career if you stick with it long enough. Just be prepared for a tough start.

You need to be born to parents who are married to be legitimate.
