Apologies if this sounds naive, but I’ve never bought a house before and I’m currently assisting my mother in her search to move closer to me. From what I’ve observed, it seems like the realtor’s role primarily involves meeting me at houses I’ve found on Zillow or Realtor and accessing the key from the lockbox. They’ve also sent me listings, but these are essentially the same ones I’ve already seen online, and most aren’t suitable. I’m wondering if the role of a realtor is akin to that of a travel agent, which was valuable before the internet but now seems somewhat redundant. It’s hard for me to grasp that someone earns 3% of a $300,000 sale for this service.

Hey Clementine, Realtors, or real estate agents, are essential in the property buying and selling process. They serve as intermediaries between buyers and sellers, providing a range of services to facilitate smooth and successful transactions.

Its just a career. You have to respect the hustle. Anyway, you are right, with the advent of the internet, and widespread use of social media marketing, its looking feeble for realtors.
