Why do people say our house needs cleaning...?

We put our house on the market last Friday and had 9 showings on Sunday. Half of the people didn’t like the house, but the other half said it needed to be cleaned. We were really confused by that. We talked with our realtor, and she thinks the feedback was mostly about the clutter on the bookshelves and some furniture in the living space. She looked through our house thoroughly and suggested moving some boxes into the garage, which we’ve started to do, and getting rid of the cat smell, which we’ve also done. She didn’t think our house was dirty at all; she just encouraged us to pack up as much as we can so it looks emptier. One piece of feedback mentioned that we wouldn’t pass a home inspection because of all our stuff. The realtor felt that was nitpicky since the inspector would have no problem accessing what they needed. Honestly, I’m just stressed out and overwhelmed. We have until the beginning of February to get an offer, and I know not everyone is going to like our house. I’m just trying to figure out if this feedback is something we can work with or if we’re missing something. Thanks for letting me vent.

If half the comments say your house needs cleaning, it probably does… I think decluttering is key here.
