Advice regarding contract for house purchase

In my contract to buy a house, my attorney missed something important. We added a purchaser’s rider for repairs, but after I signed, the sellers crossed off most repairs and my attorney didn’t notice. Now they’re asking if it’s okay if those repairs aren’t made, but I don’t agree. The contract is signed; is there anything I can do now?

Did you sign the initial contract or a counteroffer after inspections? You might need to talk to your attorney about this.

I signed the initial contract and the rider with the repairs. The sellers changed things after I signed, and my attorney missed it.

If the seller changed the terms, that’s not the contract you signed. Definitely talk to your attorney.

It might be worth getting a second opinion on this.

Check if you’re within the attorney review period for the contract. If so, you might have options.

Consider asking your lawyer to pay for the repairs since they made a mistake.

You might still be able to back out based on financing or inspection contingencies. It’s partially your responsibility to review everything, but don’t let that stop you from seeking help.

I want the house, just the repairs should have been negotiated properly. I specifically asked my attorney about this process, and now they admit they messed up.

Since your attorney made a mistake, you can still try to renegotiate or back out. If they aren’t acting quickly, consider finding someone else.

I asked my attorney to contact the sellers and renegotiate the missed repairs. They said they’re waiting to hear back, but it doesn’t seem promising.
