Anyone ever backed out of a home purchase?

My husband and I were under contract for a flipped house, but we found a ton of serious safety issues during the inspection. The sellers really cut corners, and it’s not safe for families. Now, I just found out the new buyers contacted me on Facebook asking why we backed out. Apparently, the seller told them we got ‘cold feet.’ Can I share our inspection report with them? I don’t want to get sued, but I can’t let them move in without knowing the truth.

You can say whatever is true and honest! They can’t sue you for being honest.

It’s your report, you can share it with whoever you want. You’d be saving them a few hundred bucks at least and potentially thousands.

Definitely share it! Those issues could be dangerous for kids. Just make sure you keep it factual.

Yeah, I agree. I just want to be careful not to say anything that could get me in trouble.

That seller sounds sketchy. I’d want to know if I were them. Just be clear and honest.

Exactly! You have a moral obligation to let them know. Don’t worry too much about legal stuff.

You could also suggest they get their own inspection to confirm your findings. Just to be safe.

Good idea! That way they can see for themselves if the seller tries to hide anything.
