My acquaintance recently conducted a land search on a top-floor apartment (only four stories), and the results indicated that there is a risk of flooding and that the apartments were constructed on polluted ground (that was formerly a tannery). Do these issues warrant concern or do they provide a risk for future issues or will they make it more difficult to resale in a few years?

Which type of contamination is present on the land?

@Amelia It just states that there is high severity contamination and that a tannery is the source. The property is situated on or within 25 meters of one or more former industrial land uses that are shown on historical Ordnance Survey maps, according to the environmental risk team’s professional opinion. This could put the property at risk of being classified as contaminated land under part 2 of the Environmental Protection Act of 1990. I hope this is useful.

@Lorelei I believe I would carry on with the land search even though I don’t know enough about those specifics.
