My favourite places to post are on housing groups that are specialised to a city because I can post there for free, we can easily contact via Messenger, and their Facebook page gives me a good sense of who they are.

I’ve previously located private landlords on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace.

It’s fantastic at times, not so much at others. Consider looking at privately held properties as if you were interviewing them, just as much if not more so than they are interviewing you.
