How much does it cost to build a house

I’m not certain if this is the appropriate subreddit for my question, as my initial online searches haven’t yielded much information. I’m seeking a rough estimate for the overall expenses involved in purchasing a plot of land, conducting evaluations, completing legal preparations and approvals, and ultimately constructing and designing a custom home. I acknowledge that labor and material costs will fluctuate. Could anyone direct me to a reliable source for this type of information?

Investigate modular residences. Although I haven’t built one yet, I’ve only begun to look. They are typically less expensive, based on my study.

Shawnee, Kansas is amazing! I live there too. I’ve built a few homes, including my own. You can definitely build a 1,000 sqft house or bigger for $300,000. If you get a lot, I can connect you with some good contractors.

Not sure where you found a lot for $50,000, but it’s probably in Western Shawnee. Sewage lines can be tricky out there. You can check the Johnson County AIMS website to see all the utility lines. If there’s no sewage, it might be better to spend a bit more on another lot with sewage lines. It could save you money in the long run compared to using a septic system.
