I have 3 kids under 4.5 years old and a dog. We’re moving across the country to be closer to family, and I’m feeling overwhelmed getting the house ready for photos. I can only imagine how chaotic showings will be! Any advice on managing this with little ones around?
Stay in a hotel for the first week if you are in a hot area.
We live in rural Indiana. Selling in 30-60 days seems like the norm here, but keeping the house spotless for that long sounds insane!
In that case, tell the kids they can be in one area of the house so you only have to clean that space for showings.
Great idea! They mostly stay in the playroom anyway. Maybe I can get them outside to play more before it gets cold.
It doesn’t need to be spotless. Just tidy is fine.
Try to coordinate set showing times with your agent. It helps to have a schedule!
It’s exhausting! I have a 4yo, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. Just give yourself and your partner some grace during this time.
Keep it tidy but don’t stress about it being perfect. Start packing away toys and stuff you don’t use often.
Do a group showing where you have a window of time to be out of the house for a few hours.
It’s tough, but you can do it! We’ve all been there!
Try to clear out during showings. It helps buyers imagine themselves in the space without distractions.
