Just curious about the smart devices you’ve purchased for your new home. Which ones would you suggest and which ones would you ditch?
We’re in the process of closing on our first house and I’ve been scouring Best Buy like a kid in a candy store. I want everything, but I know I should probably be selective. So, I’m curious to hear from people who’ve actually bought and used these gadgets.
What have you enjoyed the most, and what’s been a disappointment?

MyQ is something you should absolutely acquire if you have a garage. Twice I made the mistake of leaving my garage door open, but both times I was able to quickly close it using the app on my phone as soon as I realised it was still open.
I use a Nest home thermostat and August home locks with WiFi for the exterior doors. I even let my fiancé into the house when she accidentally locked herself out. With this setup, we never need keys anymore.
They are desirable plus the water leak sensors, which can detect issues early before significant damage occurs. Smart light bulbs that can automatically turn on and off, eliminating the need to manually flip a switch.
